Top 10 tips to prepare your dog for travel Print

Dog travel sickness (or motion sickness) can make even a quick trip up the street a stressful experience for both you and your dog. Fortunately, there are things you can do to conquer your pup's nausea and make travelling a tail-wagging adventure again.

PawClub.com.au has conveniently put together a useful fact sheet which can show you heaps of helpful tips on preventing travel sickness.

Top 10 Tips to prepare your Dog for Travel

Here's a preview of a few tips from the factsheet:

Good dog

To make the car seem like a more fun and rewarding place, give treats for good behaviour (but not too many or your plush bucket seats could be under attack again). And to really heighten the fun of each travelling occasion, give them a few special toys – but exclusively for playing with in the car.

Fresh air

Make the car ride as comfortable as possible for your dog by opening your car windows a couple of centimetres. This reduces the likelihood of nausea by balancing the air pressure inside with the air pressure outside, as well as keeping your car cool and well ventilated.
